Job description:
First Shift Opportunity- 6am - 2:30 pm Central time
Provides leadership and direction to the facilitys maintenance function in ensuring that all mechanical, electrical and physical facility operations are functioning at maximum.
Manages capital projects through the project system including planning, estimates, and cost analysis, budgeting, tracking and implementing timelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Leads maintenance team in ensuring that all production equipment, electrical components, and the physical building are operating/ functioning with maximum efficiency.
Develops direct reports and ensures the development of indirect reports through training and performance management.
Ensures that all programs and plans are in compliance with USDA and FDA manufacturing requirements.
Prepares departmental budget including costs for adequate systems, parts and supplies to ensure they are available to minimize downtime.
Plans and executes preventative maintenance programs, energy cost reduction programs, continuous improvement, etc.
Researches equipment and materials to accomplish the needs for new or revised processes, packaging or products.
Plans, directs and coordinates activities involved in the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery and utility systems. This includes working with outside vendors and contractors and coordinating Capital Expense projects.
Conducts continuous improvement projects and cost analysis to improve line efficiencies and overall operations. Maintains commitment to personal development plan and directs teams participation in job specific training.

DIMENSIONS
Primary location for this position is in Northern Lake County, Illinois
Qualifications:
Requires a B.S. in Maintenance Engineering or related major with a minimum of 5 years maintenance management/engineering experience (preferably in food manufacturing).
Thorough knowledge and experience in total productive manufacturing systems, CMMS, PLCs, preventative maintenance programs, high-speed packaging, downtime analysis, process start-ups and breakdowns, budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, project justification and development, vendor selection and supervision of outside workers.
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and experience in a USDA or FDA operation preferred.
Must have strong communication, interpersonal, PC, organizational and team facilitation skills.
