Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines, including startup procedures, basic controls, machine lubrication, and machine operations.
- Understand material requirements and perform product handling procedures.
- Verify product conformance using various inspection techniques and instruments (e.g., microscopes, micrometers, automated measuring instruments, tool maker’s scope, pin gages, drop gages, and concentricity gages).
- Understand and apply the fundamentals of the quality management system.
- Read and interpret drawings, identifying defect types and implementing sorting and lot control procedures.
- Perform work in accordance with traveler and work instructions.
- Conduct technical end-of-shift duties, end-of-job tear down, and housekeeping procedures.
- Possess CNC turning experience (open to various machines).
Levels of Expertise:
Level I: Entry-Level Position
- Learn to follow procedures for machine operation and product inspection.
- Perform basic-level tasks under supervision.
Level II: Intermediate Position
- Previous levels IV, V, VI experience.
- Capable of performing tool changes and adjustments.
- Demonstrate basic troubleshooting skills and techniques.
Level III: Advanced Position
- Previous levels VII, VIII experience.
- Independently set up machines and handle advanced troubleshooting.
Level IV: Master Position
- Previous levels IX, X experience.
- Exhibit advanced troubleshooting skills on multiple machine types.
- Establish manufacturing methods and lead the work area with best-in-class performance and direction-setting.
Qualifications:
- Experience in CNC turning.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using various inspection instruments.
