Job description:
Site Reliability Engineer Security Infrastructure & Tools Team
Washington, DC | Secret Security Clearance Required
Own, Build, and Secure Mission-Critical Infrastructure
This is not a traditional SRE role:
We are looking for an elite, hands-on systems engineer who thrives in high-stakes, complex environments. This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and automation. Expect to own, build, and secure massive-scale infrastructure, writing the code and deploying the systems that defend against advanced threats.
The Work:
Build Kubernetes from the ground up, operating large-scale clusters across cloud and air-gapped environments.
Engineer and automate enterprise cloud infrastructure, designing resilient, high-performance security platforms.
Write and optimize Linux scripts, Python automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) to streamline operations.
Develop and manage massive security data pipelines, handling terabytes of real-time telemetry.
Dig into system internals, troubleshoot performance at the OS level, and optimize distributed security systems.
Work independently at a high level, making critical architectural decisions while staying hands-on with implementation.
What You Bring:
5+ years of hardcore systems engineering experience, with expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), and automation.
Fluency in Linux, Python, and shell scripting. Comfortable writing code that controls, monitors, and secures enterprise infrastructure.
Deep networking and security knowledge, understanding system internals, monitoring, and threat response.
A self-directed, execution-driven mindset, capable of operating as a high-value independent contributor.
Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher).
Why This Role?
Total ownership: design, build, and operate security infrastructure at global scale.
Deep technical work: get your hands into system internals, Kubernetes internals, and large-scale cloud environments.
Mission-critical impact: defend against nation-state threats in an elite engineering environment.
