About the position:
As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide quality patient care. Your role will involve assisting with patient evaluations, implementing treatment plans, and educating patients on home exercise programs.
- Patient Care:
- Assist with patient evaluations, including range of motion, strength testing, and gait analysis.
- Implement treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and provide instruction on the proper use of assistive devices.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising physical therapist.
- Clinical Skills:
- Perform basic therapeutic interventions, such as hot and cold packs, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
- Assist with gait training, balance exercises, and strengthening exercises.
- Fabricate and apply simple splints and braces.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures regarding documentation and billing.
- Teamwork:
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Work effectively as part of a team to provide exceptional patient care.
Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, or recent graduate
