Test Lab Section Manager


Job description:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform final product and in-process testing, including polarity, resistance, insulation, load loss, impulse, and voltage tests.
  • Supervise a team of test lab technicians, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure testing processes meet requirements and gain acceptance of results.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, and procurement of test equipment to ensure compliance and reliability.
  • Analyze blueprints, test specifications, and technical documentation to develop and execute accurate testing protocols.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the test lab.
  • Investigate and resolve testing issues, collaborating with engineering and quality teams to implement solutions.
  • Ensure timely completion of testing schedules to meet production and customer commitments.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 2-5 years of experience in transformer testing or equivalent education and expertise.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical power testing methods and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing teams in a technical environment.
  • Proficient in using testing tools, equipment, and software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer specifications to design appropriate testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, safety protocols, and lean manufacturing principles.
