About the position:
Develops and administers physical therapy Plan of Care for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following illness, disease, or injury.
- Reviews and evaluates physicians referral and patients medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
- Plans and prepares written plan of care based on evaluation of available patient data.
- Confers with physician and other health practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggests revisions in treatment programs, and integrates physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient care.
- Records patient treatment, response, and progress.
- Assists the Clinic Director in planning of physical therapy services, as needed.
- Performs tests, measurements, and evaluations, such as functional activities/ADLs, range of motion, manual muscle tests, gait analysis, and records and evaluates findings to aid in establishing or revising Plan of Care;
- Provides evaluation and administers a variety of treatments to the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary and integumentary systems.
- Evaluates effects of treatments at various intensities and durations and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
- Instructs, motivates, and assists patients in exercises, such as isometric and progressive-resistive and in functional activities, such as gait training, transfer training; Utilizes weights, exercise machines, mats steps, inclined surfaces, assistive and supportive devices such as walkers, canes, crutches, parallel bars, orthoses, and prostheses.
- Consults with physician in the advent of adverse reactions.
- Maintains documentation consistent with third party reimbursement.
- Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes and meetings to maintain current credentials as applicable and as managed by regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Participates in QAA program
- Provides input to the Clinical Director on performance appraisals for Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides
- Delegates and supervises appropriate clinical responsibilities according to their State practice act.
Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist, or recent DPT graduate
