Job OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Civil Department Manager to lead our NJ or NYC civil engineering team. This leadership role will focus on managing department operations, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and developing strong client relationships. The successful candidate will have extensive civil engineering experience, particularly in transportation, infrastructure, and site development, with proven skills in team leadership, project management, and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Department Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the civil engineering department, providing strategic guidance and ensuring project quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple civil engineering projects.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for new business.
- Team Development: Mentor and support the development of engineers and other department staff, encouraging a collaborative and growth-focused team culture.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance, conduct reviews, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate across departments and participate in senior management discussions to achieve overall company objectives.
- Industry Engagement: Represent the firm in industry associations, workshops, and seminars as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; Masters degree is a plus.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of civil engineering experience, including 5+ years in a managerial role.
- Proficient in project management software and engineering design tools.
- Strong knowledge of transportation, infrastructure, and/or site development.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
