Job Summary

Under the general authority of the Med-Surg Services, functions as an administrative extension for patient care supervision on the units of the hospital and identifies appropriate clinical resources to be utilized as necessary. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups. Collaborates with other supervisors to provide routine evaluations and scheduling of PRN staff, patient flow process and staffing. In the absence of hospital Administration, assumes administrative responsibilities. Assures unit staffing needs are met.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Utah or Registered Nurse compact license from participating compact states.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Three years of experience in clinical nursing. Prior management experience as a Charge Nurse.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification.
  • Basic Rhythm Interpretation class required within 6 months of hire.
