Project Executive


Job description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to Executive Vice President and directly supervising project superintendents and project managers.
  • Interpret, enforce, and defend legal and construction documents and monitor compliance with prime contracts
  • Periodically conduct project health and accountability meetings to monitor and support ongoing performance with the project schedule, budget, and quality
  • Effectively resolve project-related and owner-related issues that can not be resolved by the project team, and/or make recommendations to executive management as to how to resolve major issues including disputes or conflicts
  • Create, maintain, and protect strong relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors built on trust, accountability, and respect
  • Provide support and oversight necessary to ensure that projects are closed-out quickly and accurately
  • Monitor project teams to the extent necessary to ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, and to provide a work environment that is free of recognized hazards and unsafe work conditions
  • Evaluate performance of subordinate staff in accordance with established company policies; recommend and support self-improvement programs or additional training that may assist in their personal growth and professional development.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of Project Executive / Senior Project Management experience in commercial construction
  • B.S. / B.A. in Construction related discipline or equivalent combination of technical training and construction experience

  • Exceptional leadership qualities and skills required to effectively lead and develop project teams
  • Practical hands-on experience with estimating, scheduling, and project job costing
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Excellent communication skills-oral, written, and via e-mails
  • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills
  • Proven ability to create and maintain strong client relationships
  • Understanding of jurisdictional processes required to obtain permits, licenses, etc.
  • Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors, and knowledge of various contract forms
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Project Management programs
