Our client, a prestigious BIGLAW firm, is seeking experienced associates to join their growing and dynamic Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department. The ideal candidates will possess substantial bankruptcy experience in a law firm setting and demonstrate the capability to handle substantive court appearances. The role involves representing creditors' committees, indenture trustees, landlords, and trade creditors in complex bankruptcy matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Court Appearances: Handle substantive court appearances, presenting cases effectively before judges and negotiating settlements.
  • Client Representation: Represent a diverse clientele including creditors' committees, indenture trustees, landlords, and trade creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Case Management: Manage and oversee various bankruptcy cases, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality legal documents, motions, and briefs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across different offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and legal counsel.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3rd to 8th year associates with substantial prior bankruptcy experience in a law firm.
  • Academic Credentials: Top academic credentials from a recognized law school.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Client-Relations Skills: Excellent interpersonal and client-relations skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bar Admission: Active bar admission in the resident and/or affiliated office location.

Salary Information:

  • New York Salary Range: $250,000 - $325,000
  • Note: The offered salary will be determined based on various factors including internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, the applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, and specific degrees and certifications.
