Lead the Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement team, overseeing their direction, coordination, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource for the organization in applying continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other methods.
- Direct the Continuous Improvement (CI) group, facilitating their interactions with maintenance and operations to drive site-wide improvements.
- Participate in site-wide planning activities, including capital management and inventory control.
- Support corporate and local initiatives (e.g., SAP, PIS).
- Oversee the development and training of CI personnel; organize and facilitate special CI events to enhance plant performance, reduce waste, and improve yield and production processes.
- Engage with production personnel to encourage participation in identifying improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to quantify, measure, and report cost savings and project expenditures, ensuring projects remain within budget.
- Act as a liaison and facilitator for both inter-company and intra-company initiatives.
- Communicate company and department goals, achievements, issues, solutions, practices, changes, and policies effectively. Encourage positive communication and enforce all company policies, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (engineering background highly preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with a hands-on approach to driving improvements.
- Experience with titanium and melting processes is beneficial (desired, not required).
- Ability and willingness to manage in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including working varied hours, addressing issues with back-shift personnel, solving problems, and responding to emergencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in Theory of Constraints (TOC) and Lean Manufacturing, with the ability and desire to act as the site expert and instructor in these areas.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Required knowledge and experience in statistics.
- Experience with ISO9000 is advantageous (desired, not required).
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
