Tool & Gauge Fixture Designer

As the Tool, Gauge and Fixture Designer, you will be responsible for working with blueprints or computer software such as Solidworks/AutoCAD to create products and equipment according to customer specifications. Position is responsible for the design of tooling, gauges, and fixtures to ensure necessary specification and requirements are met and delivered within budget and on time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Designs gages, tooling, work holding, and fixtures for production parts on mills and lathes.

· Draw up individual details and make manufacturing prints, to outsource them for fabrication.

· Work with subcontractors to answer questions. Then get the components quoted and manufactured.

· Applies geometric dimensioning and tolerance to part, tool and gage drawings.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

· Working knowledge of machined parts and their applications.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Solidworks, and AutoCAD.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines while easily adapting to changing situations.

· Effective communication, interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and stress management skills.

· Maintains work area to acceptable housekeeping standards.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· One year certification from college or technical school; or

· Five years of related experience and training; or

· Equivalent combination of experience and education.
