Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Salary: $110-130K plus bonus 

Job Summary of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager: We are looking to add an Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager to our Engineering team. You will be supported by an organization that is known as an industry leader in the mobile electrification market, that not only manufactures high-quality products but provides "service after the sale" that drives our niche in the market. This is a hands-on position. You will be working with the risk management, EHS, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify trends and work to implement preventative measures to limit the failure of products and processes.

Job Responsibilities of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

o    Assures timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks.

o    Review and approve ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documentation.

o    Provide leadership and know-how to the Controls and Automation team.

o    Assist additional engineering teams, provide electrical and automation engineering expertise to complete large cross-functional projects.

o    Support research and development activities.

o    Review design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities as required.

o    Design and validate embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; Develop and validate embedded software in C.

o    Program microcontrollers and PLCs to process I/O signals and ensure robust error-free communications.

o    Review Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provide support to address root cause and close issues.

o    Coordinates engineering activities across all engineering teams with the Director of Engineering, and Engineering Managers.

o    Supervise a group of Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Application Engineers that support our Control and Automation products.

 Education & Experience of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Manager:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 – 7 years experience managing and leading technical staff; engineering manager, supervisor, or other technical team lead.
  • Experience with UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards for electrical system design and regulatory compliance.
  • Substantial knowledge of embedded system design, firmware, and software code creation, review, and control.
  • Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and Embedded Software development in C.
  • Ability to manage many concurrent projects while maintaining a high level of productivity to complete projects on time.
  • Knowledge of programable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols is desirable.
