As a Field Service Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our Field Service team across the United States, with a primary focus on the vibrant Midwest region. While 30% travel is required for installations, maintenance, repairs, upkeep, and training, rest assured that comprehensive training will be provided. You'll have the opportunity to shadow seasoned Sr. Field Service Engineers and, when not traveling, work from our headquarters in Palatine, IL.

We're seeking individuals with experience in CNC or closely related industries, offering a competitive salary ranging from 70K to 80K, alongside bonuses, overtime pay, and per diem allowances.

Responsibilities:


  • Install and set up equipment for customers according to specifications, ensuring proper functionality through rigorous testing and user training.
  • Provide technical support, conduct preventive maintenance, and address equipment maintenance needs to meet customer specifications.
  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions for customers, driving innovation and ensuring continuous performance improvements and total customer satisfaction.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including calibration, testing, and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Become a technical subject matter expert on current and new equipment, offering valuable insights and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues through various means, including telephone support, log file analysis, or on-site visits.
  • Manage repair parts inventory and provide insights on parts usage related to failures.
  • Participate in domestic and international conferences, service summits, expert meetings, trade shows, and workshops.
  • Offer service support for the assigned territory as needed, maintaining accurate service records and documents.

Required Qualifications:


  • Hold a BS/AAS in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Electronics, or possess an equivalent of 3+ years of Field Service CNC equipment experience.
  • Bring 2-4+ years of experience in field service/maintenance roles, with expertise in troubleshooting CNC or closely related electromechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an acute attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence.
  • Possess empathy and proper etiquette in customer interactions, striving to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams, including sales, engineers, and upper management.
  • Showcase strong organizational skills and proficiency in documenting work performed.
  • Essential experience includes fabrication of parts, installations, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, motion control, and mechanical alignment.
  • Must be willing to travel 30%+ to meet business demands within the United States.
