Job Title: Litigation Associate
Job Summary: As a Litigation Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and representation to clients involved in civil litigation matters. Working under the supervision of senior attorneys, you will assist in all stages of the litigation process, from case evaluation and legal research to trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
Responsibilities:

Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research to support case strategies, analyze relevant statutes, regulations, and case law, and prepare memoranda and briefs outlining legal arguments and recommendations.

Case Management: Assist in managing a diverse caseload of litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses, and coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.

Discovery Process: Participate in the discovery process by drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing and analyzing documents, preparing witnesses for depositions, and conducting document productions.

Trial Preparation: Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and other court proceedings by organizing evidence, drafting trial briefs and motions in limine, preparing witness examinations, and assisting with jury selection.

Courtroom Advocacy: Attend court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations, and assist senior attorneys in presenting oral arguments, examining witnesses, and making legal arguments before judges and arbitrators.

Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, answer inquiries, and address concerns. Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement strategies that align with clients' objectives.

Settlement Negotiations: Participate in settlement negotiations with opposing parties and their counsel to explore opportunities for resolving disputes outside of court. Assist in drafting settlement agreements and evaluating proposed settlement terms.

Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with court rules, procedural requirements, and ethical standards throughout the litigation process. Uphold confidentiality and safeguard sensitive client information.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction.
- Previous experience in civil litigation preferred, either through internships, clerkships, or prior employment.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
