Project Manager - Capital Projects
Greater Chicago (SW Suburb) - Onsite
Responsibilities:
· Oversee project execution, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget planning, schedule development, and risk management, encompassing initiatives such as new product launches, automation projects, and capacity expansions.
· Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency within manufacturing and assembly operations through innovative process improvements.
· Drive waste reduction, technology integration, and skill development among production teams to achieve project objectives.
· Act as the technical authority for operations projects, providing guidance to engineering and assembly personnel to ensure desired outcomes.
· Foster innovation by spearheading advancements in processing techniques to align with long-term growth objectives while enhancing safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
· Prepare and evaluate reports, presentations, and budget allocations while enforcing company policies.
· Foster communication and collaboration across departments and managerial levels, delivering executive-level presentations as necessary.
· Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and equipment suppliers to develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment installations.
· Keep abreast of emerging technologies and improvement strategies to inform manufacturing process solutions, including tooling and equipment specifications, process flow, and facility layouts.
· Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and 3P methodologies to drive manufacturing cost reduction and efficiency improvements across various production processes.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field required (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering preferred).
· Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is highly preferred.
· 5+ years of experience with Capital Expenditure
· 7+ years of experience in manufacturing focusing on process improvements, capital improvements, efficiency of automation, etc.
· Experience with new product launches.
· Proficiency in spreadsheet, presentation software, and standard computer applications.
· Proficiency in 3D CAD/modeling software.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated history of creativity, innovation, and proactive problem-solving.
· Six Sigma, Red X, or other problem-solving certifications are preferred but not required.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
