Manufacturing Engineer


Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible for identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards. This position will work with the Corporate Project engineers in researching automation techniques to maximize the efficiency of production lines and planning factory layouts that optimize how products are made across the entire facility as well as sharing best practices across the organization. The job duties also include establishing process flow and control plans and monitoring quality control with the site assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach others on lean manufacturing principles and their implementation.
  • Maintain job instructions and safety requirements.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing and quality processes and identify/implement areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate projects through DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) Reviews.
  • Establish and implement PFMEAs (Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) & process control plans.
  • Participate in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Facilitate training on continuous improvement.
  • Lead projects for division, maintain tracking and timelines on all projects.
  • Follows and enforces all plant safety procedures and uses all applicable personal protective gear.
  • Conduct, drive, and lead continuous improvement activities to improve performance in safety, quality, and on-time performance.
  • Assists the site in the development and understanding of financial justifications for action items required.
  • Assist in Production Operations management when needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred)
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. (or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of production operations.
  • Experience utilizing an ERP system within a manufacturing environment – Epicor knowledge a plus.
  • Follow procedures and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
