The Industrial Engineer will support the Industrial Engineering Department by performing the following duties:
•Responsible for the launch of new processes and equipment into NAFTA production and prototype facilities.
•Assist production by providing necessary launch and continuous improvement support.
•Lower the cost of production by eliminating wastes in both manpower and materials.
•Plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations by performing the following duties.
•Providing budgetary costing for quick customer discussions.
•Create Bills of Materials and Routings in ERP system.
•Responsible for the development, procurement, and implementation of tooling, gauging, and manufacturing equipment for new projects.
•Responsible for providing timing plan (and maintenance) to project management for industrialization and launch of project.
•Responsible for estimating task time and cycle time for any new process.
•Responsible to develop equipment and processes that achieve quote specifications.
•Provide bill of tooling and complete tracking log.
•Obtain necessary information and create MHR calculation for controlling approval.
•Conduct time studies.
•Write and maintain standard work instructions (SWI's).
•Review and improve packaging issues.
•Complete FMEA's and process flows as required.
•Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
•Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment (VUS).
•Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment (VUS).
•Manage the maintenance records of machines in regards to the preventable maintenance program (VUS).
•Serve as an external and internal representative of the organization; to support corporate goals, while promoting our locations best interests, conveying a sense of expertise in the organizations, its products and its capabilities.
•Communicating and supports effectively with Engineering and Project Teams, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales and customer objectives are met.
•Assist in launch programs as needed.
•Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by optimizing design (of layouts, machines, etc.) to produce quality products.
•Follow all Quality Management Systems, the Environmental Management Systems, and, when applicable, support operations in Mexico in adhering to their systems as well.
•Participate in plant recycling programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering; 2 plus years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with computer drafting software (AutoCAD)
