Accounting Assistant (hourly position, starting pay around $21/hr)

FINANCE ASSISTANT

 

Description of Responsibilities

The Finance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the day-to-day accounting functions and financial transactions of the pharmacy.

 

Reporting Relationship

Finance Manager

 

 

Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant include the following:

 

1.       Ensure proper handling of banking, including timely deposits, proper change allocation among cash tills, and daily reporting from RX30, NetRX and any other systems as needed.

2.       Pull and sort all invoices and packing slips located in the pharmacy and from incoming mail daily. 

3.       Enter invoices to proper locations once all documentation has been completed. 

4.       Complete weekly accounts payable processing as directed by the Finance Manager. 

5.       Assist Finance Manager in credit card reconciliation process. 

6.       Contribute to a positive work climate and overall team effort within the pharmacy. 

7.       Participate in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Human Resources department. 

8.       Participate in pharmacy committees when requested. 

9.       Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy. 

10.   Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities. 

11.   Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager and/or President. 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

1.       Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.

2.       Associate degree in accounting or 2 years previous accounting or business experience. 

3.       Knowledge of general accounting and financial management.

4.       Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.

5.       Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing, as well as efficient use of the internet and email.
