Senior Process/Production Engineer


The successful Senior Process Engineer candidate must be capable of Provide expert production/process engineering support to the site for ongoing production operations and new process introductions.  Serve as the primary resource for implementing engineering studies, designs, evaluations and improvements to optimize utilizations. 
 
- Serve as project engineer responsible for scope, schedule, and cost on small to large sized process improvement projects. 
- Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and track the implementation of recommendations through resolution. Develop and generate periodic utilization reports for processing unit equipment. 
- Determine continuous improvement opportunities and implement process changes, cost studies, economic evaluations and new process development in the production unit to optimize utilization (throughput, quality, safety, efficiency).
- Directs and monitors productivity, process yields, and product and process performance to meet production commitments in an efficient manner.
 
 
- Provide engineering services to optimize equipment life and plant profitability. Expected to interact with all plant personnel to identify, develop, and manage improvement projects. 
- Assume advisory role and assist in day-to-day troubleshooting of equipment and processes in the Unit.  Monitor productivity, process yields, and product and process performance to meet production commitments in an efficient manner.
- Provide support to identify unit specific equipment and areas of potentially high susceptibility to corrosion or erosion effects. 
- Provide maintenance organization with economic impacts of maintenance activities to assist in planning and staffing. 
Manage the company's engineering efforts by providing continuous leadership and expertise.  Support existing operations by troubleshooting equipment and systems and by offering to provide engineering support to production activities.
 
- Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment to increase reliability.
- Familiarity with best practices in online equipment health monitoring as well as inspection and repair techniques.  Effective diagnostic methods on troubleshooting equipment. 
- Identify actual operating variable ranges for each piece of equipment and compare to design and communicate to maintenance and operations groups. 
- Identify the process and economic impacts associated with equipment failures and operating reliability. 
- Champion the reliability efforts in assigned areas of responsibility by providing technical assistance in resolving equipment design, operation, and maintenance problems.  Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Conduct life cycle cost analysis on new and critical equipment. 
- Estimate costs for engineering, construction, and prepare contract documents.  Lead Turn-around planning and assist with implementation. 
- Recommend projects and/or studies to Engineering to support overall plant reliability. Develop cost justification for reliability improvement.  Review equipment specifications and standards and develop recommendations for reliability improvement.
 
Looking for 6-12 years of solid Chemical manufacturing work and must have a ChE degree.
